Its Football Season

Well, it’s football season, so I am going to write about the Indianapolis Colts. They are my favorite football team.  And yes, certainly part of my liking the team is the fact I live in Indianapolis, but also I like the way the team management built the team and the way Peyton Manning plays and conducts himself.  I think the Colts will win the super bowl this year.  I think Donald Brown is going to be a great, great running back in this league and will be a huge addition to the offense.  Anytime you have Peyton Manning behind center, you have a chance to win the game.  The Colts offense can put up a lot of points in a hurry. And the new defense coordinator, Larry Coyer, has the defense blitzing more and I think the defense will be much better this year.   We need to get Bob Sanders back, but Melvin Bullitt is doing a great job filling in for him.  When Sanders gets back though, I think the Colts will be unstoppable.  Go Colts!

The All-Important Dog Collar

If you are going to own a dog, you should take the time to select a dog collar of an appropriate size and style.  Depending upon where you live, having a dog as a pet can mean that your canine buddy will need to be on a leash when you take him (or her) out for daily exercise.   And even in locations where it is legal to let your dog roam around the property on its own, a cool dog collar with an identification tag can be extremely valuable if he decides to do a little sightseeing around the neighborhood. If your pet tends to drag you along on your afternoon strolls, to the point that he is choking himself on the neck collar attached to his leash, you may want to change dog collar styles, and place him in one that looks more like a harness.  These are a bit harder to put on and take off, but can be far more comfortable for Fido when he is anxious to pull you along during the walk.

Indianapolis, IN

I live in Indianapolis, IN, and I love it.  I grew up in Boston, MA and, although I miss the ocean, I have come to really like Indianapolis. It’s a fairly small city, but we have major sports teams (Colts in the NFL and Pacers in the NBA), and we have a great symphony and the Indiana Repertory Theatre.  There are many good restaurants downtown.   I like the fact we have 4 seasons, like I grew with in Boston.  I lived for 2 years in Texas and I didn’t like the fact that there weren’t 4 seasons in Texas.  The people in Indiana are very nice, very neighborly.  I know all my neighbors, and we get together for cookouts during the summer.  My kids are in good schools, and the sports here in Indiana provide a good challenge for my kids.  We are very pleased to be here in Indiana.

Any Dog Jacket Will Do

Our dog is an incredible fan of dog jackets.  If we bring one home for him, as soon as he sees that small piece of clothing he automatically assumes that it is his and he quickly comes and sits waiting for us to put it on him.  He is not picky in the least when it comes to his dog jacket.  We haven’t found a style that he doesn’t like.  He likes leather dog jackets, bomber jackets, knit jackets, heavier winter jackets, and light summer jackets.  Once you put on his jacket he automatically assumes that means that we are going to go outside for a walk.  It’s like he wants an opportunity to show off his new duds.  So it has become a tradition to buy him a jacket as a present.  He celebrates his birthday, Christmas, and the special times that we just bring him home something new just because we love him.  I think the fact that he is a little dog makes him even cuter.
