Fall and Rise

This past weekend, I attended a game night that was hosted at my cousin’s place. We had do many games to choose from like Monopoly, Uno, Scrabble, and Taboo. My cousin also prepared food, so we munched on delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, snack mix, and cake. She also made everyone Lemon Drop Martinis and they were delicious as well. We played games all night. The best part is the men and women faced off in most of the games. We also took lots of pictures and had great conversations. This was my very first time going to a Game Night and I would totally do it all over again. It was some of the most fun I have had in months!

Last night I went to one of the more popular Chinese restaurants in the Minneapolis area called Guang Zhou. This restaurants owners provide quality food at a reasonable price. Last night I went to this restaurant with my family and I had the Kung Pao chicken with white rice, also I had egg rolls and egg drop soup. The Kung Pao chicken that I had was made with red peppers, peanuts and a spicy house sauce. I am a fan of spicy foods so this was a great entree for me. I could taste the hot peppers in every bite. The egg rolls were exceptional. They were loaded with bits of pork and cabbage with a crispy shell. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls was a plum sauce which enhanced the flavor of the egg rolls. The egg drop soup was pretty good as well. The soup was made with a chicken base and of course had pieces of hard boiled eggs in it. The taste of the egg mixed with the chicken broth helped make the flavor of the chicken stand out more. I mixed a little bit of soy sauce in to the soup to give the soup a little more so a salty flavor which is what I like in my soups. Overall I would have to say that this was the best Chinese food I have ever had. This place made me wonder why I haven’t tried authentic Chinese food before, I have been eating more of a commercialized style of Chinese food that just doesn’t compare to Guang Zhou`s authentic food.

I often find myself running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to do as many things as possible whenever I can make the time. Not having a lot of spare time due to working in retail some sacrifices need to be made such as unimportant things like sleeping, so that I might do more important things like increase my skill level on Halo 3 or Call of Duty World at War. Killing zombies on Left 4 Dead, swimming to stay in shape, creating get rich slowly and painstakingly schemes, and reading on how to better myself are always good things to do.
