I’m happy with who I am today, so there’s no need to change the past. And as for traveling to the future? I’ll stick with the present. Half of the excitement of the future is that it is still unknown, it is still unwritten. If I was able to know what was going to happen in the future, I would feel this strange excitement about tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day.

May 25, 2011 — 7:55 amI would confront my first and last boyfriend. He was a cheater and a liar. I would walk right up to him and ask him why he said he loved me. I never understood it, he clearly did not, but why did he say it? He was the one who said “I love you” first, so if he didn’t, why would he? He wasn’t getting anything out of saying it. I’d also ask him why he kept coming back. After we’d break up, he’d always come back. But, he’d continue to cheat. I guess the saying is true: he wanted his cake and he wanted to eat it too.
Hide and Seek

I miss just playing games with the kids on my block. Playing hide and go seek, Baby in the air, Manhunt, Ice cream man, Sardines, Capture the Flag…they were some of the greatest times. It was so free and unburdened. It was always too early when we had to come in. Sometimes I want to play games like Manhunt or Capture the Flag again, with my friends now, but feel as though no one will want to join me. Maybe one day, I will reconnect with those kids from the block and we’ll play a game, just for old times sake.
