My daughter is my biggest inspiration, she drives me nuts sometimes but 90% of the time she is what pushes me forward. She gives me the strength to get up in the morning to go to work, even if I would love nothing better than to stay in bed all day. When I get home from work exhausted and agitated all she has to do is smile at me and all my troubles go away. I never thought that I would have the strength to work all day and then go out and play in the park for two hours, or that I would stay up when she falls asleep just to watch her sleep. Love is the biggest inspiration of all, and there is no doubt about it.
The biggest inspiration of all
June 16, 2011 — 12:59 pmCan’t live with it, can’t live without it
June 14, 2011 — 12:58 pmI guess that my favorite invention is the internet, simply because it makes my life so much easier. Any information is just a click of a button away. If my little girl is sick I just check the symptoms online and more or less get an idea of what I’m up against. It’s easy to stay in touch with cousins and friends from out of town. Communication is made very easy. But the downside is that instead of meeting our friends for coffee we stay home and chat with them online. Kids play virtual football instead of going outside and seeing the sun, and getting some exercise. So for me it’s a love-hate relationship.
Ancient Egypt
June 9, 2011 — 12:58 pmIf I could travel in time, I would travel backwards in time to 48 A.D. in Ancient Egypt. This is when it is said that Caesar accidentally burned down the most prolific library in all of ancient history: The Library of Alexandria. It is a great cultural tragedy that so much was lost during that fire. If Plato, Homer, and the Epic of Gilgamesh are still in existence, then imagine how much we will never know existed! I would like to have saved the library from that fire, so that our history would not have perished into flames.
I would confront the kid
June 6, 2011 — 12:57 pmI would confront the kid who bullied me throughout all of middle school. His name was Ryan and he never hurt me physically, but he used to say things to me which were specifically crafted to compromise my self-esteem. In middle school every kid is facing issues with feeling accepted, and this guy made me feel as if I was an absolute outcast. I wish I could have confronted him and stood up for myself, although I’m glad to have learned my lesson.
